RESTORATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF PRINCESS ANNE WMA
Ducks Unlimited partnered with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to complete the restoration and enhancement of the Whitehurst and Beasley Tracts at Princess Anne WMA. Work included the design and installation of a new pump station and water control structures.
The Princess Anne WMA project is just one of many projects completed by Ducks Unlimited in Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. DU’s waterfowling and waterfowl conservation heritage spans many generations of duck hunters from Back Bay to Currituck Sound.
Through a long-standing partnership with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Ducks Unlimited has acquired, enhanced, and restored 14 Wildlife Management Areas throughout the Commonwealth. These WMAs provide critical wintering habitat for our migratory waterfowl and access for public waterfowl hunting.
