Join the Cadets of VMI for their inaugural wetlands conservation dinner. Ducks Unlimited is the world's leader in wetlands conservation and proceeds from this event will support DU's conservation mission. Wetlands are the most productive ecosystems on the planet. In addition to providing habitat for our migratory waterfowl, wetlands provide habitat for a plethora of other wildlife and environmental benefits including clean water. DU has conserved 73,313 acres in Virginia and more than 15 million acres across North America.
Ducks Unlimited recently completed a wetlands restoration project at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The project included the installation of several water control structures restoring approximately 600 acres of wetlands. The Cadets from the VMI DU chapter volunteered their time and energy to help the refuge install the new Seaside trail and were highlighted on the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge Facebook Page.
