Virginia Tech DU Oyster Roast

Wetlands are one of the most productive ecosystems on the planet. Wetlands filter our water, mitigate flooding, protect our shorelines, and provide critical habitat for our waterfowl and more than 900 species of animals. 

Since 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 19 million acres throughout North America including 86,919 acres here in Virginia.  Recent DU projects completed in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries not only provide critical wintering habitat for our migratory waterfowl but also provide public access for hiking, fishing, and hunting.
