Join Virginia Ducks Unlimited for a fun day at Belle Isle State Park building wood duck nesting boxes. The experience is limited to 20 participants and the recommended age is 8 to 16 years. Registration is FREE and includes lunch and beverages. Adult participation and supervision is required. If online registration is full and you wish to be placed on a waiting list, please email Bill Pennell at whpjr517@aol.com.
SCHEDULE - NOVEMBER 13, 2021
9:30 - 10:00 am - Meet at the Humphreys Pavilion at Belle Isle State Park
10:00 am - Youth participants begin building wood duck nesting boxes
11:15 am - Demonstration of wood duck box installation
11:30 am - Lunch Break (Hot dogs, water, sodas, and chips)
12:00 pm - Duck calling demonstration by Luke Taylor
12:30 pm - Youth Duck Calling Contest
Winner of the Youth Duck Calling contest will receive a FREE duck hunt on Youth Special Hunting Day on February 5, 2022 (More details to follow regarding hunt location)
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to install the wood duck nesting boxes at Belle Isle State Park in February 2022. Please email Bill Pennell to volunteer for the installation of the wood duck boxes.
