Pentagon DU Fun Shoot and Volunteer Recruitment Day at Shady Grove Game Preserve

Please join the Pentagon Chapter for our annual fun shoot at Shady Grove Game Preserve! There will be a round of Sporting Clays in the morning followed by a wild game lunch. If you will be attending lunch, we ask that you please bring something for the grill or a side dish. Following lunch there will be an upland hunt with your choice of 6 Chukar or 12 Quail. Guides are available for those who need them.  You do not need to be a current member of DU to attend...open to everyone that would like to join the chapter and help...if you want to purchase or renew your DU membership in conjunction with this event it is $35 and you can purchase online...

We need to confirm bird counts with Shady Grove NLT 10 March. If you plan on attending, please let us know as soon as possible.

Event Costs

Sporting Clays: $25.00

Lunch: $5.00

Hunting w/ Guide: $230.00*

Hunting w/o Guide: $195.00*

Required Equipment

·      Shotgun and lead shot. No shot larger than 7-1/2 for Sporting Clays

·      Blaze Orange

·      Hunting License*

*Please note that a valid Virginia hunting license is required. Licenses must be purchased separately through Virginia DWR.
