2023 Playa Workshop
Want to know more about playas, the benefits they provide, and how to make them work for you? Register now for the 7th Annual Playa Workshop & Tour on January 10 and 11, 2023, in Liberal, Kansas. The two-day event will focus on making playas profitable and is free for landowners and tenants with playas on their land. For others who would like to attend, there is a $50 fee which also covers lunch on Wednesday.
During the event, participants will learn about how to manage their playas as part of a profitable operation, playa management considerations, and how to make an offer for enrolling a playa in the Migratory Birds SAFE conservation program through the USDA Farm Service Agency. There will be opportunities to hear directly from landowners and producers about their experiences managing playas and have discussions with agency staff about the pros and cons of various playa conservation programs.
