In 1937 a small group of people came to together for the purpose to improve the habitat, that they knew needed human help. Now in 2021 Ducks Unlimited continues to do what we can to be a force in the improvement of not only America, but Canada and Mexico habitat. While a virus, which is small. can affect the world in a negative way , so can a group of people affect the world in a positive way with its focus on habitat restoration. Such is the story of Ducks Unlimited as a whole as well as the 48 years of the Olympia Chapter.
We welcome you to our event which will feature a great meal, both silent and live auction, xx guns, games, bucket raffles and of course our dollar raffle table . We try hard to keep our registration cost low while still raising significant money for Ducks Unlimited. It has been a long time since we have seen each other. We look forward to seeing you and being with you this event.
A group of pheasant hunters came together, sparked by an idea they had about a trout stream in upper New York's Beaver Kill River. Joseph Palmer Knapp along with John Huntington, Arthur Bartley and Ray Benson were the beginning of Ducks Unlimited. This occurred after the Wall Street Crash of 1929, but America was still experiencing the effects of the Great Depression. They were also experiencing the effects of a drought across the Prairie Pothole Region. It was these four men who came together to rescue the Waterfowl depleting numbers with a plan to restore the habitat that Ducks depended on for their survival.
The Story of Ducks Unlimited is a story of how a small group of people can grow a movement helps the habitat.
