Las Cruces Membership Renewal & Door Prize Drawings - Dinner Canceled

Dear Friends of Conservation:

I had hoped that by now, Las Cruces Ducks Unlimited would have successfully conducted its annual membership dinner and that the local committee would be planning the 2021 event.  While COVID-19 has prevented us from conducting our usual in-person event in 2020, with a meal, silent auctions, and lots of raffles, we will still conduct a membership event on Friday, 4 December 2020.

 Please keep in mind that while many of us in New Mexico and west Texas are shut down or locked down from COVID, the needs of wetland and waterfowl conservation across the continent continue. Waterfowl are currently migrating south and having the same habitat requirements as before COVID. They will also require wetland habitats when they return to the breeding grounds next spring. The vital work of Ducks Unlimited in the United States, Mexico, and Canada goes on.

I am asking our supporters to renew their membership now, either through the on-line system or through the mail when they receive their notice of our event. All you need to do is register and pay for memberships. There is no cost for a meal (obviously) and there are no raffle tickets. I ask you to consider making all of your family members Ducks Unlimited members as well.

We do have a couple of door-prizes, for those folks who pay for the regular membership or higher, by December 4^th.  Everyone who pays for a $35 regular membership will be entered into a door-prize for a Tristar Viper 12 gauge shotgun.  Likewise, everyone who joins or renews at the bronze sponsorship level ($250) or above, will be entered into a door-prize for a Ruger ES9S 9mm handgun. We will draw a name from each category on December 4^th. All local, state and federal firearm laws apply. We will ship firearms to the nearest FFL in the DU network.

Please consider enrolling your children and grandchildren as Greenwing members for $15 each.  Also, for NMSU students, we will continue to accept $25 memberships (but memberships at this level will not be eligible for the door prizes). I would like to see everyone renew for 2021 and keep the support for the mission of Ducks Unlimited strong. 

This will be my final event as Area Chair. I thank you for the support you have shown to me and to Ducks Unlimited for the past seven years. I look forward to a return to “normal” next year with a live, in-person banquet.
